Prices for General Assembly and CareerFoundry
General Assembly offers workshops, part-time courses for developing specific skills, and full-time immersive bootcamps. While some workshops, such as SQL Training for Beginners, are free, others cost up to $250, including the Advanced Marketing Analytics course. Part-time courses meet for 1-10 weeks and cost $750-$3,950. Full-time bootcamps, which take 10-12 weeks to complete, cost $13,500-$15,950, with the Software Engineering Immersive bootcamp being the priciest option.
Full-time General Assembly students are eligible to pay for their tuition using an ISA. This means that once they secure a role earning at least $40,000 per year, they start paying 10% of their monthly income for 48 months. General Assembly also allows full-time students to finance their bootcamp tuition through fixed-rate, low-interest loans.
The CareerFoundry courses in UX and UI design cost $6,555 upfront. Students can also choose 9-10 monthly payments of $550-600 if they make an upfront payment of $1,400-$1,500. For the web development program, tuition is $5,225. People can also pay $1,300 upfront and make 7 monthly payments of $600.
Ratings and reviews of General Assembly and CareerFoundry
General Assembly alumni report finding jobs that related to the skills that they developed in their bootcamp. While some people said that they enjoyed the curriculum and career coaching, others were frustrated with the program’s rapid pace and struggled to keep up with assignments. Many students note that it is best for motivated self-starters who are willing to put in the work.
The online reviews of CareerFoundry are fairly positive. Most grads felt like they learned a great deal from the UX design, UI design, and web dev bootcamps, though some felt that the career coaching did not go into enough depth. Echoing this, one grad praised the instructors and community, though he noted that because CareerFoundry is based in Berlin, the bootcamp’s job network is wider in Europe than in the United States. One UX design bootcamp grad said that CareerFoundry helped them put together a portfolio and jumpstart a design career.
